Raymond “Ray” Roberts moved with his parents to Odessa, Texas, in 1952, where he attended Odessa High School. At just 17 years old, he began his career as a professional Blues/Country music singer and guitarist, performing throughout Texas and New Mexico for the rest of his life. Over the years, Ray shared the stage with several country music legends, including Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard. When asked why he never pursued a move to Nashville, he simply replied, “I was too busy.”
